Arabic, Islamic and Qatari History

As an international school in Qatar, SISQ follows the Ministry of Education’s mandated programme for Arabic, Islamic Studies and Qatar History.

All Secondary School students who, as stated by Ministry guidelines, are required to study Arabic do so for four hours a week. The Ministry content is studied but inquiry based learning is encouraged. Students who are not required to study Arabic by the Ministry of Education are still provided with two hours of Arabic per week to introduce them to the language of the host country.

Islamic Studies is taught to all Muslim students, while other students follow a programme of Cultural Studies during this time. All students study Qatar History and make links with our study whenever possible.
