Our History

The Swiss International School in Qatar is a partnership between the State of Qatar and Bellevue Education; a world-class group of exceptional schools dedicated to providing the best possible education to children and students aged from 1 to 19 years. Bellevue delivers a variety of national and international curricula across the group, and provides both a co-educational and single-sex learning environment for students from around the world. Surval Montreux, a highly regarded all-girls boarding school in Switzerland, belongs to the group.

SISQ officially opened its doors January 2017 for children aged 3 to 5 years. In September 2017 over 300 children up to the age of 14 joined the school and it is as such the most successful school opening in Doha in recent years. By September 2018 the school will welcome students up to 16 years, and up to 18 years by 2019. SISQ is currently a candidate school* for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years, Middle Years and Diploma Programmes.

SISQ has been approved by His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani and established under the leadership of the Attorney General His Excellency Dr. Ali Bin Fetais Al-Marri. The partnership between the State of Qatar and Bellevue Education is a result of a mutual dedication to create a flagship school, anchored in the international values of Switzerland, that provides families living in Doha with a truly international education for the future.

*SISQ is a candidate school to deliver the International Baccalaureate Programmes. The school is currently pursuing authorization as an IB World School. For further information about the IB and its programmes, visit http://www.ibo.org
